PLEASE READ:
ALLOWED CHARACTERS

APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN!
Notes:
  • We now operate ROLLING APPLICATIONS that are always open. You can submit 1 character anytime in a month!

  • Our application process has become simplified due to staffing changes, please take note!

  • As apps are always open, reserves are NO LONGER REQUIRED. Please simply complete the application below and post when you are ready.

  • If two people apply for the same character, the first to post their application will be assessed. The second application will only be considered if the first is declined.

  • However, we do allow UP TO TWO versions of each character in game. The second applicant would therefore be permitted to apply for an AU version of that character if they so choose.

  • Agents of D.E.S.T.I.N.Y. or antagonist applications will open on November 4. These characters are either brainwashed (quick resolution) or coerced (slow-play resolution, long-term espionage) to help usher in the apocalypse. More information here!
Please do not link from your journal, make sure all the content is pasted into the comment(s).

OOC:

Player Name: Provide your handle
Age: Indicate you are 18+; players less than 18 years-of-age are not permitted
Contact: One or more of Plurk, PM, or Discord are needed

IC:

Character Name: Mrs. Handsome
Canon: Indicate which version if there are multiple (e.g., book to movie)
CANON POINT: Briefly describe in a sentence.
CRAU: Yes/No, please link the game/musebox the character is from
Age: Note that characters below 16 years of age should be apped with caution, as self-sufficiency/autonomy are extremely important. Heavy interdependency and neglect risks should be OOCly opt-in.
AGENT OF DESTINY: Yes/No, "Brainwashed" or "Coerced." Brainwash agents will be captured in-game and start to remember themselves within 1-2 months of play; coerced agents are knowingly helping the other side but under duress. Antagonists cannot begin gameplay until November 4, 2017, but you may feel free to apply and plot before then!
Background: Brief summary as possible, Wiki links preferred. If you wish to write your own, please us bullet points and be concise, 250-800 words. Please avoid over-describing the world or any jargon, focus more on key points in personality development (see above), changes wrought by CRAU and important CRAU relationships, and events that are likely to be regarded as offensive or sensitive material.
Powers/Abilities: Bullet list preferred. 1-400 words. Include non-human weaknesses/limits and superlative skills. Estimate numerical limits (weight, distance, speed, etc.). At the mods' discretion, destructive capacity may be scaled down based on a maximum lift of 5 tons (~2 full-sized cars).
Starting Equipment: Name your daemon, describe its form (max 50 words), and list any other items the character will be arriving with. Note highly destructive items will be controlled by metaplot. If you have critters that have powers or special abilities, please describe them briefly.
Samples: 1 required, may be from any meme, game, or setting; however, it should have been written within the last year. They should also be written from your preferred canon point.

In-Universe:

Exit Strategy: Maximum of 200 words. If your character is an agent of D.E.S.T.I.N.Y./antagonist, describe what D.E.S.T.I.N.Y. agents did to them (e.g., torture/magical brainwashing, or family held hostage/apocalypse postponed).

For non-antagonists, tell us how the D.E.S.T.I.N.Y. apocalypse and the enemy appeared in their world, then describe the technology or magic the character used to escape their world. Note any characters they are arriving with (i.e., 'group app') including usernames. This may be used for future plot, but don't worry too much about perfect consistency with your group mate/castmates/etc.— adjustments can be made later. We just want you to be thinking about it. All characters start on the beach.

Applications
Who's Allowed?

ALLOWED

✔ CRAU, or characters who have experienced life in other games/museboxes. 'Partial CRAU' is not allowed, but if you apply in fresh, you will be able to obtain memories of CRAU during special events.
✔ Original characters
✔ Canon characters who must personally appear and preferably have a speaking role in the material of the canon point (specific episodes, books, films, etc.). You cannot app a minor/supporting character and headcanon the substance of their personality, or extrapolate a character's off-screen activities from material that only their canonmates were seen in
✔ Child characters (see Age warning in the Application section; note that self-sufficiency is important and other characters and players will not be forced to face consequences for failing to take on a dependent without careful OOC plotting)
Multiple iterations of the same canon character are allowed. The two versions must be at least one with CRAU. The current maximum is 2 of each character. This may be raised by 1 if the character exists in another form of media and is determined to be sufficiently different.
✔ Non-human characters (greatest height in all directions is 30 feet; weird genitalia is fine as long as no one has to deal with it if they don't want to)
Agents of D.E.S.T.I.N.Y., allowed as of November 4

PLEASE NO

Agents of D.E.S.T.I.N.Y., those secretly affiliated with the virus
✘ Characters who must kill sentient beings (compulsion, physical appetites/dependence, etc.); there are limited NPCs and escalating ICC may render your character unplayable

Players should consider introducing themselves to players of close canon CR before they app. However, this is only required in the case of a group application (castmates arriving together from the same version and canon point of their world), or if you are apping the second version of an existing canon character. The purpose of this is not to mandate approval, but to initiate and encourage intra-cast communication.

CHARACTER NAME: Peter Parker
CANON: MCU / Spider-man Homecoming
CANON POINT: Shortly after he attempts to turn the Staten Island Ferry into two separate half-ferries and Tony Stark has to come save his ass, gives him a lecture and then promptly takes his new fancy-dancy suit back.
CRAU: No
AGE: 15 -- although, for the sake of the game, I would like to age him up a year to 16.
BACKGROUND:
Peter Parker Wikia
(alternate wikia)
Spider-man Homecoming Wikia
(alternate wikia)

POWERS:
- Mad Spider Skillz : Upon being bit by a genetically enhanced spider, Peter gained similar abilities to a spider; enhanced/super strength, enhanced/super speed, enhanced agility & reflexes, enhanced stamina, enhanced/accelerated healing, and wall-crawling.
- My Spidey Sense is Tingling! : Peter is able to "sense" upcoming danger and approaching objects without having to physically see them, making it easier for him to anticipate and react to it. This, however, doesn't work if Peter is distracted by something else.
- Nice Going, Smart Guy : Peter is extremely intelligent when it comes to sciences, math and technology. He attends a specialized school for science and technology. He created his first set of web shooters & webbing on his own. (Although, he is not at all skilled when it comes to making clothing.)
- Ready, aim, fire : Peter is very skilled in hand-to-hand combat. He's also a very skilled marksman -- at least when in regards to his web shooting.
STARTING EQUIPMENT:
1 (one) average school book bag containing; a poorly homemade spidey suit, web shooters, and a set of school textbooks
1 (one) Midtown School of Science and Technology sweatshirt (on his person)
1 (one) pair of jeans (on his person)
1 (one) pair of sneakers (on his person)
1 (one) daemon Happy Hogan Lego figurine named Mr. Happyd

SAMPLES: one (out of universe)
two (in universe - TDM)
and in case it's needed : alternate (out of universe)

In-Universe:

EXIT STRATEGY: D.E.S.T.I.N.Y. presented itself in the form of what appeared to be another giant wormhole in the sky (New York City, amirite?). Assuming that another battle was getting ready to go down, most New Yorkers waited as patiently as possible for The Avengers to appear and save the day again. Peter, on the other hand, rushes head first into the thing thinking that it's the perfect opportunity to get back in the good graces of Tony and the others. Which… didn't go at all as planned.
MORALITY: Peter is a good kid at heart, he understands the difference between right and wrong and tries his hardest to do the "right" thing. But, like any average teenager, he's a bit reckless and doesn't always follow the rules -- such as not listening and disabling the security protocol that's installed on his suit -- but he believes that he's breaking them for morally good reasons. Stopping bad guys from robbing a bank, keeping a packed elevator from plummeting to the ground, trying to keep a full ferry from splitting in two, tracking guys with stolen alien technology. Peter sometimes puts innocent people in the way of danger in the process, but never intentionally, and always immediately does he try to remedy it and keep them safe. He wants to do good, he wants to help the underdog and the average person because he doesn't feel like there's anyone out there doing that.
WAR ATTITUDES: While Peter is more than familiar with fighting alien creatures, superhumans and bad birdmen with crazy weapons, Peter is most importantly an underdog and wants nothing more than to help out the little guy. He doesn't go looking for fights or trouble recklessly, a large part of his reason for protecting Queens (in the form of giving old ladies directions, saving people and cats from burning bodegas, and retrieving stolen bikes.) is simply because he thinks that someone needs to, because he cares and because that's his city. He's willing to fight alongside others, as long as it's for what he believes to be is the right reason.
INTIMATE RELATIONSHIPS: Peter isn't particularly popular at his school. He's never shown having a large group of friends -- even his teammates for Academic Decathlon couldn't really be considered his close friends, they rarely hang out with one another outside of practices -- but the people that Peter does care about, he cares for with everything he has. Even despite not being particularly close with one of his teammates, Flash, who often picks on him, Peter still comes to his rescue when the elevator inside of the Washington Monument is ready to crash. In regards to intimate relationships, Peter is fairly shy. He doesn't have very much confidence in himself around anyone that he likes and quite often comes off awkward whenever he tries to make any kind of conversation or moves. Although, sometimes it works out in his favor.
COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTIONS: Seeing as Peter is still a teenager (and kind of a nerdy one, at that.) he'd be anxious to continue learning, and to discover everything that he can about the new world that he's in. He'd also be more than likely to try and get back into being a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Trying to stop crime and whatever other baddies might show up -- although, sometimes not-so-successfully. Peter cares very deeply about the community that he lives in and the people that are a part of it. While he'd be more than willing to go out and fight on the front lines if he's needed (or really, even if he isn't.), he wouldn't hesitate to stay back and help build the community, using his natural affinity for technology to lend a hand in any way that he can.

CHARACTER NAME: Anthony Stark AKA Tony
CANON: Marvel Cinematic Universe
CANON POINT: During Spiderman: Homecoming just after the scene where he takes the suit back from Peter, having chastised him, and sends him home
CRAU: No
AGE: 45
BACKGROUND:
Background via Wikia it's so long

POWERS: Tony's main 'power's have always been extremely high intelligence and equally extreme wealth. With those combined, he could create equipment that gave him the ability to go toe to toe with some of the most powerful Enhanced in the universe.
STARTING EQUIPMENT:
  • A nice suit and other undergarments, shoes, etc. to make outfit
  • Iron man suit
  • Set of 20 portable small thrusters
  • Small jet
  • A rudimentary version of Friday, his AI companion, to become his daemon; the body will look like an awkward human android (along the lines of Vision but more rudimentary) who may eventually be upgraded to look more seamlessly (but creepily) human
SAMPLES:
  • Log with Skye from Systemwide
  • In-universe network post:
    Hello world.

You don't look as nightmarishly on fire as the last time I saw you. In fact, the beach was pretty near idyllic, apart from the running, screaming, moderately bloodied civilians. Listen. I know a certain amount of mayhem and destruction is native to the experience of life. Throw in some transdimensional portals for color, some different worlds and talking species for variety. The dim hope of eventually fixing everything... or anything, just in case anybody was going to take the path of least resistance and maybe just. Stop.

    We have to keep going.

What I'm hoping is that alcohol is also a multiversal constant. Thoughts?
In-Universe:

EXIT STRATEGY: The world ended with red-armored military forces that wouldn't stop and raging electrical storms that overwhelmed the vast majority of even Tony's powerfully protected tech. Tony actually took Steve up on his offer at end of Civil War and brought the gang back together in hopes of fighting them off, but it was futile. In the end, Tony packed everyone into a jet he'd devised in the last final moments of the world-- unbeknownst to him, divine inspriation (F.A.T.E.S.) had struck and allowed it to jump worlds. Less cool: he was alone when he fell into the world.
MORALITY: Tony is an inconvenient and self-frustrating paradox— a person motivated by vast remorse from having enabled terrible loss of life in the past, and even profited on it, and almost obsessive in his pursuit of redemption. However, he is so emotionally fused to this journey and the past that his heart tends to screw with his incredible brain, recruiting his egotism, and he'll tend to miss the forest for the trees. After all, he is still entrenched in violence himself and feels terrible for it; he'll imprison Enhanced because he feels responsible for what they have done to alleviate his own guilt rather than coolly examine problems and procedures; he'll break a spider teen's heart to protect his life and limb because he gets mad when he's scared. A suitable metaphor might be that he scores high on Knowledge and poor on Wisdom, which darkens his morality to a murky grey despite its sparkling intentions.
WAR ATTITUDES: You might say war is in Tony's blood, given his family business was directly involved in supplying weapons that killed soldiers of all countries around the world back home. It's a legacy Tony both struggles against and nonetheless has an unique, uncanny knack for, especially in terms of creating weapons. Whether those weapons are always lethal or focus instead on capture, containment, etc., they are always weapons. He fundamentally believes that violence is often a necessary answer to hard questions, although since Civil War he has begun to think more and more about finding the line where it is not. Relevantly, he's also adept at lying.
INTIMATE RELATIONSHIPS: In romantic relationships, Tony is a disaster. He spent most of his life with short, fiery affairs and casual one-night-stands, which he considered mutually beneficial despite some part of him knowing, for sure, that he broke a few hearts along the way. In recent years, since becoming a somewhat more authentically avoidant and troubled person (as opposed to a faking it til you make it kind of avoidant and troubled person), he fell in love with Pepper Potts. He has had a long and contentious relationship with her, off-again on-again, a mess of clashing priorities and poor communication. In Xist, he'll be hung up on her, but also more capable of genuine feelings with others. With regard to friendship, he's-- similar, actually, direly missing his old friends, especially Rhodey but including the Avengers. He feels he has unfinished business especially with Steve.
COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTIONS: Tony tends to use his mechanical brilliance and creative genius for destructive purposes, but he is also very capable of contributing to civilian prosperity, such as his renewable energy project. All of it is guilt motivated and he is guilt to motivate him for days. Years. Centuries, but luckily he won't live that long! So just years. He'll make AI tractors and a flying train and all kinds of other stuff for the city, given the chance.

CHARACTER NAME: Hunter Lawson
CANON: Original
CANON POINT: post fae war
CRAU: Yes
AGE: 284
BACKGROUND:
  • Born to a small pack outside a town. The pack and the villagers had a tenuous peace built on the pack protecting the village and the villagers shared their food with the pack.
  • Hunter met a boy. Their first, and only, time together resulted in the boy's father catching them. To protect himself, the boy blamed Hunter for the incident. The village became angered and wanted to eradicate the werewolf menace in their area. To protect themselves, his pack exiled him.
  • Eventually comes to a forest that houses a door to fae guarded by vampires.
  • Meets another werewolf, Jessie, who welcomes him into her small pack of only herself and one other, Hoxley. A gathering of misfit werewolves finding a home among vampires.
  • Finds a lone wolf out in the woods. Wolf turns out to be dangerous and uncontrollable. Turns out, he's a human that was turned into a werewolf. Hunter ends up bringing the unconscious man back to the pack in the morning. Henry then decides to join the pack, hoping to find some stability in his life.
  • Finally attends a party at the vampire's home where he meets the vampire prince, Rafaello d'Este.
  • The two spend a wonderful night together. Hunter always had a bit of a crush on Rafa, and was surprised the vampire was interested in him at all. Having just lost one of his great loves in a fae battle that had taken place before Hunter's arrival, Hunter tried not to put too much stock in the relationship.
  • Meets Lucas, a local vampire that Hunter finds a fast connection with.
  • Over time, Hunter starts to develop insecurities. More like they had already existed, but slowly they start to worsen and his emotional health deteriorates quickly. He turns to Lucas to help numb the pain and chase the darkness away.
  • cw: suicidal ideation: Eventually, the pain starts to feel too much. Hunter decides to ask Lucas to help him end his life, only to be caught by Rafa and Henry both who stop him.
  • The emotional damage done, Hunter struggles to recover to who he once was. He now realizes he was never that person, and these issues can't be buried anymore.
  • Seeing his struggle, Rafa ends the relationship in order to give Hunter space to heal and imagining himself to be part of the problem. Hunter stays with the pack, and ends up becoming Rafa's bodyguard.
  • Once Rafa returns to Sicily to dethrone his father, Rafa's adoptive sister, Lark, takes Hunter under her tutelage.
  • Takes the leap to be turned into a vampire/werewolf hybrid after Jessie was the first.
  • Hunter spends the next few centuries focusing on himself, Henry, and his training. Becomes an effective and dangerous soldier during this time and marries Henry as well. Eventually, the capital of Rafa and his fellow king, Nikolai's, empire is moved to Prague.
  • When it turns out Lark never fully recovered from her captivity in fae, Hunter replaces her as general for the new empire's army.
  • The door starts to open again, and Rafa's missing lover, Shane, is returned. The gap between himself and Rafa feels even larger now, until Shane helps advise Rafa to rekindle things with Hunter.
  • Hunter and Rafa eventually marry.
  • Rafa finds a quieter way to end his war with the water fae in Italy, earning allies to defeat the winged fae in England.
  • Hunter aids in the war that ultimately results in the death of the dark fae queen Belladonna, replaced by a king named Eran, the brother of Shane.
  • Henry takes over as pack leader with Hunter's support.
  • Hunter tries to assist Rafa as an envoy, instead ends up bringing back Koda, a faerie/incubus whom he's fallen in love with, and Wyatt on another trip, a young werewolf whom he and Henry adopt.
  • Life's not perfect, but it's pretty damn close and Hunter loves it.

EUDIO CRAU:
  • Goes to Eudio in order to find "a peaceful end to the war at home." He's seen too much of what the war has cost those he loves, and he wanted the war to end. He also wanted it to end in a way that would spare those he loved any further pain.
  • Gets a growlithe and names it Hoxley after his dad.
  • Also reunites with Rafa during their breakup. Eventually the two patch it up together.
  • Formed deep relationships with others he considers to be family, such as Vex, Mark, Alec, and Magnus.
  • Marries Rafa ( the first time ) in Eudio with Vex as his best man.
  • Works at the Wolf's Den and the Bloody Mystic, ends up becoming co-owner of the Bloody Mystic and the Wolf's Den briefly.

POWERS:
  • Stamina & Strength: a little stronger than a typical vampire and able to take a beating a lot better, it takes a lot to get a hybrid down.
  • Immortal: impervious to sickness and aging
  • Better senses: his sense of smell is best of all, but his sight and hearing are also heightened for better hunting purposes.
  • Wolf form: he's able to fully transform into a fairly large black wolf, larger than the average wolf. He can also extend his claws and teeth at will without fully turning.
  • Addictive blood: his blood can get someone high, and too much of it can turn them into a thrall that desires only his blood and will do anything for it.
  • Incubus blood: no real effect on powers, but does enhance his natural features, gives him bright eyes that do tend to glow, and increases his libido.

weaknesses
  • Stakes/beheading/fire: typical vampire weaknesses that still effect him to a full degree
  • Sunlight: he can stand to be in the sun, but he's sensitive to it and can't be out in it for too long.
  • Thirst: he needs both human blood AND human food in order to survive
  • Magic: not as badly affected as a vampire, but still can make him ill and weaken him in a fight
  • Religious iconography: same as magic, to a degree but not nearly so bad.

STARTING EQUIPMENT:
  • the clothes on his back
  • a cellphone
  • loose change
  • a growlithe named Hoxley (that's going to evolve into an Arcanine)
  • daemon named marshmellowd found here

SAMPLES:
Log from Eudio Test Drive
network sample:
[ Hunter really hates trying to figure out how to text on this keyboard, so he's going to go with a video instead.

Once it starts up, he runs his hand through his hair to push his bangs back, staring into the camera.... eyes of his daemon. ]
Is it good? We good?

I am recording, yes. You are "good."

Okay, cool. Sweet. So yeah.... [ Leans back a bit more so he's not directly in the camera's face. ]

Holy fucking shit.

Well, that was one hell of a trip.

So sound off if you're still alive out there? Also sound off if talking into a bunny isn't just a little bit weird. No? Just me? [ He breaks out in a grin and leans in real close to the camera. The sound of fur being ruffled can be heard as his hand settles on the head of the daemon. ] I'm just playing. Mellow knows I like him, don't you Mellow?

It's Marshmellowd. And if you say so, then I know it.

See? [ Leans back, and sighs, looking around at his wild surroundings. Smile fading just a little bit. ] But really, what's up? What can I do to help? Let me know, guys.

In-Universe:
EXIT STRATEGY: Hunter had been in Eudio when the worlds began to fall apart. Having learned that multiple worlds were affected, he tried to go home with his husband, Rafa. They asked Eudio to send them home, but neither ever made it home. Hunter left at the same time as Rafa, but whatever magics brought him here took longer for him to arrive than it took Rafa. For him, though, it'll be like no additional time has passed.
MORALITY: Morality has never been something that Hunter has ever struggled with, because he has a very blasé attitude towards it. He's not a murderer, but he's killed before. And he doesn't find anything wrong with vampires who've killed either. His morality tends to be more personal based on what affects him or those in his life. Outside of that, he doesn't have a many strong feelings one way or the other. He lives in a world that is constantly straddling the line between black and white. He was born into it, and it's only gotten grayer the longer he's been alive. He has no real interest in taking a greater stance on good and evil on the overall. He's only concerned about staying alive and keeping those he loves alive. His morality might extend just enough outside that to not wishing for the destruction of the universe. The reality is if his friends are all happy and he's happy because their worlds are all safe, then he'd probably lose some interest in the rest of the universe. Unless someone he cared about asked him to take an interest.
WAR ATTITUDES: It's not that he likes war, he hates it actually. He's seen what it does to those he loves, and he went to Eudio to end the war at home as peacefully as he can. He's good at it, though. He's a good fighter, a good soldier, and a good general. For all his lightheartedness, when it comes to war Hunter knows how to buckle down and strategize attacks and defenses. He's good at it, and he does enjoy it. If he could get that without the dangers and threats of a real war, that'd be his favorite thing ever. Unfortunately, he's good at something that brings a lot of people pain regularly. He's willing to fight in a war to protect people and help find an end, but he'd never wish for war. Even if that meant his talents went to waste for the rest of his long life.
INTIMATE RELATIONSHIPS: Hunter has a very rough history with romance that he tries not to think about or talk about. He's come a long way in his life to recover from it, but the truth is doubts still plague his mind from time to time. He loves too easily and too quickly, and that caused him to be burned severely in the past. So he constantly wars with himself to try to avoid those pitfalls, but he finds himself tripping up in them all the time. It's a constant struggle, and he's been lucky in recent years. However, the warning bells still go off in his head sometimes. He's open to many relationships, however. He has three husbands, and he still has room in his heart for more love. He has his son Wyatt, as well. He's open to multiple relationships and willing to love anyone who truly wants him.
COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTIONS: Unfortunately, Hunter doesn't have a lot of skills. He never cultivated much beyond hunting, and then killing later in life. Hunter is great at war. He's great at battles and fighting. His best use would be defending everyone now, and fighting when needed. He'll offer any other help needed, of course. After all, he has other natural abilities that others might be able to depend on. But for his personal talents, he's best suited for fighting.

CHARACTER NAME: Commander Jane Shepard
CANON: Mass Effect
CANON POINT: Mid Mass Effect 3
CRAU: No
AGE: 32
BACKGROUND:
wiki link / in depth timeline

Since you can choose your own story with Shepard ( featured on her wiki link ), the decisions for this particular version of Shepard are as followed: Colonist, War Hero, and Vanguard.

POWERS: Being that I've classified this Shepard as a Vanguard, this means she is a biotics and weaponry. This is essentially a mash up for the Adept and Soldier class, which means she has proficient usage of all various types of guns, and is good at biotics -- which is a term referencing an implant in her brain that essentially gives her telekinetic powers. This is a Youtube video showing off all Vanguard moves, but basically she has this purple glow around her body, a bit like electricity, that she can manipulate and force how she sees fit.

STARTING EQUIPMENT:
- N7 armor
- a pistol
- a shotgun
- an assault rifle
- a sniper
- Shepard's daemon is a monkey-esque looking creature called a Pyjak. It's name is Gruntd.

SAMPLES: one / two

In-Universe:

EXIT STRATEGY: At the point Shepard is taken from, humanity is gripping at strings to find a means of survival when up against the Reapers. In their most desperate hour, they're willing to take on any lead they can find, which is when D.E.S.T.I.N.Y. arrives, and humanity seeks to use it for their own advantage -- pitch one apocalypse against the other. Shepard and the Normandy crew escape after antagonizing D.E.S.T.I.N.Y. to a Reaper infested planet, grabbing whatever bits of alien life the hadn't escaped and flying to the nearest mass effect relay to meet up with the rest of the universe. Unfortunately for Shepard, when she wakes up the Normandy is nowhere to be found and her entire crew has gone missing.

MORALITY: In Mass Effect, you chose your own morality for your character. This version of Shepard is mostly Paragon, which means she's on the good/white side of the moral scale. Throughout the series, Shepard is more than willing to lay down her life at any point, and even does die at the beginning of ME2, whilst saving a crew member. All life is important to Paragon Shepard -- from humans, to aliens, to synthetics. The path she chooses is guaranteed to be the most selfless and beneficial option out there, as someone who believes the end doesn't always justify the means.

WAR ATTITUDES: Shepard is a soldier, a Commander, and a Spectre. She thrives in war as a natural leader, her history having made her something like a prodigy since she was admitted into the Alliance. Throughout the known universe, Shepard is frequently idolized and admired, widely recognized as the only one actively doing anything to bring all the races together, after having been pushed off with her warnings against the Reapers for so long. Shepard is the first in line to any mission fighting for a good cause, you can bet she won't be satisfied to sit by while others take control.

INTIMATE RELATIONSHIPS: Shepard is a fairly openly book, romantically. For the sake of ease, she will be coming into Xist without any romantic ties, although there are quite a few options for her canonly in game -- ranging from all different genders and races. She's a flirt to some extent, although the mission and heroics will always come first in her mind. Although the idea of emotional relationship being necessary might cause her to raise an eyebrow, making friends and possibly more than that won't be a challenge for her specifically.

COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTIONS: Shepard, as mentioned, will not be standing by and letting the world happen. Her contributions usually come in the form of manning peaceful alliances or offering protection to the less able. Largely, she can offer her leadership and war training, alongside physical protection and training. She'll certainly be interested in rounding up the best fighters and honing in their abilities together.

CHARACTER NAME: Elliot Alderson
CANON: MR. ROBOT
CANON POINT: Post season 2 finale, Elliot has met up with Tyrell but doesn't believe he is real and Elliot is trying to stop Mr. Robot's plans. He is shot by Tyrell at the end of season 2.
CRAU: No
AGE: 28
BACKGROUND:
wikia

POWERS:
💻 Highly skilled hacker
💻 He is diagnosed with social anxiety disorder, clinical depression and paranoid delusions.
💻 He also has symptoms of dissociative identity disorder, with a full fledged confirmed second identity in Mr. Robot. At the canon point he is coming from he is struggling very heavily with dissociation.
+ In addition, he frequently loses time and memories even more so than previously when Mr. Robot has been in control. While, this may come up in some scenes, anything destructive or wide scale that Mr. Robot might try to plan that would affect the game would obviously be presented as a request to the Mod for approval beforehand. I don't foresee this in the near future but if a good plot line potentially comes up the option to do so would be appreciated. I will also certainly have a opt-out/permissions post regarding any characters choosing not to interact with Mr. Robot or certain issues that Elliot has.
💻 He is also a drug addict but he was in prison shortly before his canon point so he is clean to an extent which seems to exacerbate his mental issues since he was self medicating before his arrest.

STARTING EQUIPMENT:
+ His backpack which includes: a built laptop and charger, two packs of cigarettes, an empty lighter, the Mr. Robot jacket and hat, an fsociety mask, a copy of the movie The Careful Massacre of the Bourgeoisie and a cell phone that is probably useless here.
+ The clothes on his back: jeans, black t-shirt and black zip up hoodie.
+ Daemon: will be a identical dog to Flipper, the dog he stole and it will consequently be named Flipperd.

SAMPLES:
TDM

EXIT STRATEGY: Elliot isn't quite clear exactly what is happening in his world when he exits into Xistentia. At this time he is all but completely losing his grip on reality. The fabric of his reality seems to be tearing quite literally around him in the moments leading up to being shot by Tyrell. Of course, being crazy and thinking he is talking to someone inside of his head he also thinks that the way the air seems to dissolve around him is something he doesn't think is real. The shot goes off and as he goes down he falls through a portal that had conveniently (or not) opened up on the floor that he falls into.

CHARACTER NAME: Juno Steel
CANON: The Penumbra Podcast
CANON POINT: Post-Juno Steel and the Dragon's Den just after returning to Hyperion City.
CRAU: No
AGE: 38

BACKGROUND: While these aren't described in detail, I wanted to lay down the content warnings just in case. These include alcohol abuse (by Juno's mother and by Juno himself), mentions of severe depression (both Juno and his mother), child abuse/negligence and subsequent death of a minor (Juno's mother kills his younger brother Ben when they are just children, and though we're never told how, I'm playing it safe).

Now, here's the Wiki link, but it's pretty sparse, so I've accompanied it with some of my own supplemental information for season one and season two of the podcast. I've kept it pretty bare bones, trying to stay as streamlined as possible but as I love this podcast very much I'm always willing to scream about it in detail. That being said, here are some SparkNotes.
SEASON ONE
  • Juno Steel's a detective with a lot of issues living in a neon-bathed, corrupt city on Mars, Hyperion. His caseload this season involves the numerous thefts of various ancient Martian artifacts by one Xenoanthropologist scorned named Miasma (secretly, one of the last living Martians). To help her procure these artifacts, she had hired a master thief, Peter Nureyev, who Juno runs into on one occasion early on (and kisses, yikes!)
  • During a related case, Juno swallows a Martian pill to keep it out of Miasma's hands. Said pill grants the one who ingests it the ability to read minds at the cost of bleeding out of your face holes and creating a tumor in your frontal lobe.
  • Not long after this incident, Nureyev turncoats on Miasma and comes to Juno, having discovered that Miasma wants to destroy all life on Mars. He aids Juno in trying to stop her from collecting another artifact, a devastatingly powerful Martian bomb, but before Nureyev and Juno can secure it, Miasma captures them both and brings them to an ancient Martian tomb.
  • Due to Juno having swallowed the Martian pill, she wants to extract data from his brain in order to replicate the tumor the pill created to give her the ability to read minds as well. She proceeds to torture both Juno and Nureyev.
  • Unluckily for Miasma, Nureyev is a master thief and breaks them both out of their prison, forcing them to fight Miasma to the death while the bomb's clock ticks down.
  • Juno tries to read Miasma's mind and loses his right eye due to the pressure caused by the mind-reading tumor in his brain. He does find out, however, that there is no way to stop the bomb. So at the last second, he traps himself and Miasma behind an airlock to minimize the bomb's blast only to discover upon detonation that this bomb was a Martian suicide weapon, never meant for genocide, but to wipe out all Martian life.
  • Miasma dies, Juno is left standing, and he and Nureyev leave the tomb and all of its secrets behind in the Martian desert, heading back for Hyperion City.
  • Once settled, Nureyev asks Juno to leave Mars with him, possibly forever, to travel the galaxy with him. Juno agrees and the pair spend one night together.
  • Just before Martian sunrise, Juno backs out of his decision, leaving Nureyev and returning to work as a detective to protect Hyperion City as much as he can.

SEASON TWO
  • The city election is coming, Juno is in a Funk and is down one eye, and Nureyev is Gone. Juno spends a lot of time this season reevaluating himself mentally and coming to terms with some of the more emotionally charged parts of his past (his mother, his depression, etc). That being said, the main plot so far has been such:
  • Enter Ramses O'Flaherty, a man who is running for mayor of Hyperion city, completely dedicated to cleaning up the streets, helping the impoverished, and wiping out the corrupt cops in the HCPD who currently work for the present criminal mayor, Pilot Pereyra.
  • Juno joins O'Flaherty's cause as both detective and bodyguard and Ramses gifts him the Theia Spectrum, a cybernetic eye that grants Juno a number of abilities. Juno wants more than anything to trust him as their goals are aligned with the good of Hyperion City.
  • Ultimately, Juno's job is to keep Ramses alive until Election Day while finding out who wants him dead, which ultimately leads him back to the place of his mother's breakdown: the very same entertainment park she was fired from.
  • And he does manage this, but not without shedding some blood, something that Juno usually isn't about. It's left him a little shaken at this point. This is a guy who always has his blaster set to "stun" when he's running and gunning, which brings us to his current canon point.
POWERS:

INVESTIGATIVE ABILITY | Despite his own attitude towards himself, stating he "spreads the mess around" rather than helps Hyperion City, his services are sought after and Juno's ability to deduce and put together clues is very much unmatched. It's definitely an ability he's earned after years of being private investigator.

BRAWLER | Juno's got a mean right hook and he's not a gentleman. He's scrappy, he doesn't play fair, and if he has to put you down he's going to try his damndest to do so. Juno's taken on opponents bigger than himself before, but doesn't have superhuman strength.

SHARPSHOOTER
| He's the best in the Martian west, enough said. When he had both of his eyes, before the Theia Spectrum, Juno was known for him quick draw and even faster shot. The best sharpshooting this side of Nowhere, essentially. Combined with the Theia Spectrum enhancing his sight, Juno's shooting is vastly improved, firing off rounds with deadly accuracy in seconds.

THE THEIA SPECTRUM | after the destruction of Juno's eye, Ramses O'Flaherty played patron to Juno and outfitted him with a brand new robotic eye that has a number of different modes, some of which are still undiscovered. It has night vision capabilities, the ability to read lips & calibrate the voices of their owners through sight, and a recording mode that can be connected to an upload link. It is also a precision weapon in that it aids Juno in shooting lightning fast rounds from his blaster by improving his brain-to-muscle reaction time drastically.

DISNEY PRINCESS | Juno has the uncanny ability to speak /commune effectively with animals. It's weird. He speaks quite casually with Martian rabbits who (as far as we've witnessed) only communicate in very indistinct animal grunting and snuffling noises (negotiating directions in exchange for a ten cred bill). It's weird. He's weird.

STARTING EQUIPMENT:
⇒ A long trenchcoat + clothing (right image)
⇒ The Theia Spectrum (an implanted robotic eyeball)
⇒ A blaster and 6 cartridges for it
⇒ His comms unit
⇒ Wallet (contains ID, some business cards, 20 creds)
⇒ A daemon named "DAHLIAD" who takes the shape of a white peacock and has an incredibly saucy attitude. Dahliad speaks with a questionable mid-tone voice that can't quite be placed in a specified gender range and it fluctuates, sometimes pitching high and sometimes pitching low.

SAMPLES: action/log w. tin can, i mean iron man and if that doesn't do it for you, here's a text thread w. darlene as a back up.

IN-UNIVERSE:

EXIT STRATEGY: Juno was cornered by some red armor-clad D.E.S.T.I.N.Y. agents when he got back to his office in Hyperion City after his most recent case. Cue a huge shoot out. Towards the tail-end of the fight, backed up against a window, Juno had two choices: he could be pinned down or he could take his chances falling out the window. Out of sheer spite, the Juno Steel Way (TM), he threw himself off the ledge, middle fingers up, and instead of landing (painfully) on the pavement, he fell into one of those really convenient portals that all the cool kids are falling into these days, which brought him here.

Darlene Anderson Wikia

POWERS:
﹅ Darlene has no physical powers outside of those of a normal human. She possesses no enhanced strength, or any other abilities, but she is extremely skilled when in relation to technology, and more specifically hacking. She is one of the leaders of the hacker group known as fsociety. She is able to write her own programs (both malicious and otherwise), infiltrate network systems, and disable various other advanced security protocols.
STARTING EQUIPMENT:
﹅ the clothing on her back ( black tank top, black double breasted military style jacket, white/red striped shorts, black boots.)
﹆ book bag containing; one fsociety mask, one seemingly blank VHS tape, one package of cigarettes, one baggie with 4 pills of ecstasy, one copy of Vladimir Nabokov’s Lolita, one set of ballet clothes (black leotard, black footed tights, black knitted cover/shawl, and ballet flats.), personal/custom built laptop computer & charger.
﹆ pocket sized daemon named Ciscod
SAMPLES:

EXIT STRATEGY: In the midst of a nice dinner with her on-again-off-again boyfriend Cisco, the Chinese hacker collective known as the Dark Army organizes an attack on the pair -- more specifically Cisco, who they believe has crossed them and needs to be eliminated. Just as the bullets start flying, the universe begins to tear itself apart around Darlene. There's an uncomfortable pressure in her ears (which are already ringing from the shots being fired) and a strange sensation in her entire body that almost feels like she's been hit by a ricocheting bullet or a piece shrapnel. In an attempt to try to escape the chaos happening, and assess her own damage, she ducks under her table and into a portal that drops her right into Xistentia.

CRAU: no.
AGE: 30
BACKGROUND:

POWERS: Dick Grayson is an entirely human vigilante. However, he does have some skills that could be considered somewhat meta human, including a very thorough training in all martial arts, a history in acrobatics, and genius-level IQ marks.

STARTING EQUIPMENT:
- nightwing suit
- escrima sticks, ft. electrical surges
- grapple hook/batclaw
- his daemon, an elephant named zitkad. china said he could be big!!!!

SAMPLES: intro thread @ eudio.

EXIT STRATEGY: With the eldritch horror of Bruce Wayne leftover after his death going on a killing spree throughout Gotham's crimelife, D.E.S.T.I.N.Y. arriving is a bit like the cherry on top of an already crap situation. Maybe Bruce himself would've handled the situation differently, but Bruce is gone and Dick is here, so he steps up alongside Tim Drake to unite the Justice League and battle the invaders head on. The two of them make an attempt to reach the Justice League's hideout on the moon in order to strategize with the other superheroes already there, but they encounter enemy marks. Dick, at the wheel, passes out unconscious, and when he wakes up it's to the Batwing crash landing into the waters of Xistentia. Tim is nowhere to be found.

CHARACTER NAME: Olivia Colomar, alias Sombra
CANON: Overwatch
CANON POINT: After joining Overwatch. 2017.
CRAU: No
AGE: 30
BACKGROUND:
here & here.

POWERS:
• Sombra has cybernetic implants in her spine that extend connections along her limbs and allow her to, as she puts it, "hack the planet", interfacing with technology through her fingertips. In-universe this allows her to suppress others' abilities, which I'm nerfing because how does that even work. Given the new universe is a program I imagine it will resist reality manipulation, too, but I'll leave her with the equivalent of technopathy and approach you on a case by case basis.
• Sombra has the ability to see enemies who are low on health through walls; I'm going to loosely translate this into an infra-red implant.
• She has a modified piece of technology that allows her to teleport short distances (she places the small metal item and can then blink back to it at any time within the next minute).
• Her outfit and enhancements are designed to be able to camouflage her, turning her essentially invisible for about a minute or until she interacts with the world.
• Finally she is naturally very skilled at hacking and computer technology.

STARTING EQUIPMENT:
• Bodysuit.
• Gun.
• Teleporter.
• Daemon is a white-nosed Coati whose fur matches Sombra's ombré purple hair. She has named it Wound.

SAMPLES: on the tdm.

EXIT STRATEGY: Sombra doesn't know if she's the only member of Overwatch who made it out. They make such a good team, but typically she works alone, and when she was swept up into the battle that seemed to suddenly overtake her world there just wasn't time to wait for the others. She met an NPC who filled her in on the enroaching apocalypse (muffled Imagine Dragons playing in the background) and though she wanted to stay and fight she barely escaped intact.

CHARACTER NAME: Mikaela Hyakuya
CANON: Seraph of the End
CANON POINT: Chapter 41
CRAU: No
AGE: immortally 16
BACKGROUND:
wiki

POWERS:

As a full, noble vampire who was turned by a high ranking progenitor, Mikaela is exceptionally strong for his age. Such strength usually only occurs in much older vampires, and Mika has only been an incomplete vampire for four years. And yet he is able to go toe to toe with those considering to be extremely strong. Now that he is a full vampire, his strength and speed are increased, making him a very formidable foe.

He has enhanced senses such as hearing, smelling, and vision. He's able to run extraordinarily fast and often dodge some of the most dangerous attacks. His vampiric strength also gives him an ability to jump to and from high places, landing without damage. He heals fast, provided he hasn't been struck by an anti-vampire curse.

Mika is also a skilled swordsman. Unlike most vampires at his level, he is able to use what's called a "first class armament", a type of sword usually reserved for the high ranking vampire progenitors. This sword, when activated by the words "Drink my blood," extends vine-like appendages out of the hilt. These vines wrap around Mika's hand and arm, pulling blood from him and granting him extra strength and speed. He's also able to unleash a dangerous blast wave by swinging his sword in a horizontal arc, blasting enemies away from him.

STARTING EQUIPMENT:
➔ his sword
➔ his white uniform with black anti-uv patch
➔ 5 vials of Yuuichirou's blood.

SAMPLES: dear-player
EXIT STRATEGY:

The world has already ended once for Mika's world but as the world ends for a second time, it's in the form of Yuu's seraph activating. The ground trembles, cracking under Mika and there's nothing he can do but watch as his best friend is turned into a monster. A wave of salt passes him and Mika blacks out. When he wakes up, it's in a completely new world.
