One bonus of the Echo is that Era can communicate and understand all sentient beings with souls (part of the 'all languages' schtick). Would she be able to get some use out of it for this mission? If Era discovers they are similar to the Beast Tribes she's befriended back home she'll want to talk to them and ask permission rather than treat them like animals.
