Notes:
  • We now operate ROLLING APPLICATIONS that are always open. You can submit 1 character anytime in a month!

  • Our application process has become simplified due to staffing changes, please take note!

  • As apps are always open, reserves are NO LONGER REQUIRED. Please simply complete the application below and post when you are ready.

  • If two people apply for the same character, the first to post their application will be assessed. The second application will only be considered if the first is declined.

  • However, we do allow UP TO TWO versions of each character in game. The second applicant would therefore be permitted to apply for an AU version of that character if they so choose.

  • Agents of D.E.S.T.I.N.Y. or antagonist applications will open on November 4. These characters are either brainwashed (quick resolution) or coerced (slow-play resolution, long-term espionage) to help usher in the apocalypse. More information here!

AGENT OF DESTINY: Yes/No, "Brainwashed" or "Coerced." Brainwash agents will be captured in-game and start to remember themselves within 1-2 months of play; coerced agents are knowingly helping the other side but under duress. Antagonists cannot begin gameplay until November 4, 2017, but you may feel free to apply and plot before then!
Background: Brief summary as possible, Wiki links preferred. If you wish to write your own, please us bullet points and be concise, 250-800 words. Please avoid over-describing the world or any jargon, focus more on key points in personality development (see above), changes wrought by CRAU and important CRAU relationships, and events that are likely to be regarded as offensive or sensitive material.
Powers/Abilities: Bullet list preferred. 1-400 words. Include non-human weaknesses/limits and superlative skills. Estimate numerical limits (weight, distance, speed, etc.). At the mods' discretion, destructive capacity may be scaled down based on a maximum lift of 5 tons (~2 full-sized cars).
Starting Equipment: Name your daemon, describe its form (max 50 words), and list any other items the character will be arriving with. Note highly destructive items will be controlled by metaplot. If you have critters that have powers or special abilities, please describe them briefly.
Samples: 1 required, may be from any meme, game, or setting; however, it should have been written within the last year. They should also be written from your preferred canon point.

In-Universe:

Exit Strategy: Maximum of 200 words. If your character is an agent of D.E.S.T.I.N.Y./antagonist, describe what D.E.S.T.I.N.Y. agents did to them (e.g., torture/magical brainwashing, or family held hostage/apocalypse postponed).

For non-antagonists, tell us how the D.E.S.T.I.N.Y. apocalypse and the enemy appeared in their world, then describe the technology or magic the character used to escape their world. Note any characters they are arriving with (i.e., 'group app') including usernames. This may be used for future plot, but don't worry too much about perfect consistency with your group mate/castmates/etc.— adjustments can be made later. We just want you to be thinking about it. All characters start on the beach.

Who's Allowed?


ALLOWED

✔ CRAU, or characters who have experienced life in other games/museboxes. 'Partial CRAU' is not allowed, but if you apply in fresh, you will be able to obtain memories of CRAU during special events.
✔ Original characters
✔ Canon characters who must personally appear and preferably have a speaking role in the material of the canon point (specific episodes, books, films, etc.). You cannot app a minor/supporting character and headcanon the substance of their personality, or extrapolate a character's off-screen activities from material that only their canonmates were seen in
✔ Child characters (see Age warning in the Application section; note that self-sufficiency is important and other characters and players will not be forced to face consequences for failing to take on a dependent without careful OOC plotting)
Multiple iterations of the same canon character are allowed. The two versions must be at least one with CRAU. The current maximum is 2 of each character. This may be raised by 1 if the character exists in another form of media and is determined to be sufficiently different.

Players should consider introducing themselves to players of close canon CR before they app. However, this is only required in the case of a group application (castmates arriving together from the same version and canon point of their world), or if you are apping the second version of an existing canon character. The purpose of this is not to mandate approval, but to initiate and encourage intra-cast communication.

POWERS:
MAGNETOKINESIS > Lorna has the ability to manipulate magnetic fields, giving her a range of talents associated with it
MAGNETIC MANIPULATION > At a basic level, Lorna is able to manipulate ferromagnetic metals. This gives her an ability to move metals in any way she wishes. While she had a limited range once before, her pregnancy has enhanced her ability to a greater power and range. As such, so long as Lorna can react, she can use her abilities near instantly. This means she's able to stop bullets, and even shoot them back. She has strength enough to tear a moving plane apart, as well, though it takes a tremendous amount of effort on her part. Through manipulation of metals, Lorna is also able to make herself fly. This is only possible if she's wearing metals on her body, which she does often ever since she made this discovery at 16. Due to her ability to manipulate ferromagnetic metals, she's also able to sense where these metals may be found. This means she can also sometimes sense people nearby ( with concentrated effort ) due to trace metals in their systems.

ELECTROMAGNETISM > Using magnetic fields, Lorna can manipulate electric currents. She can force currents to reverse, surge and burst, and create EMP fields that take out electronics in the vicinity. She can also tamper with walkie-talkie and cellphone frequencies. As with sensing ferromagnetic metals, Lorna is able to sense electrical currents, including electromagnetic pulses in living creatures nervous systems ( again, with great concentration. )


STARTING EQUIPMENT:
- Clothes on her back (leather jacket with studs, deep cut top, jeans with dangling chains on them, steel toed boots, bracelets, etc.)
- 1 burner phone
- her Daemon looks like a medallion given to her on her 13th birthday. It's name is Magnetd.



SAMPLES:
It's a strange feeling going from deafening chaos into near utter silence. The sound of the waves nearby are loud enough, but compared to the chaos of the hounds that had just attacked her home, they were nothing. Her hands dig at the sand and snow as Lorna tries to grasp the situation. It's not really a comprehensible one. Her eyes scan wildly over the beach for anything that would put this world into some sort of framework.

It only really gets weirder, though.

Laying not too far in front of her was something she wasn't holding on her person when she left through the door. A medallion, one she kept but didn't carry around everywhere.

Yet there it lay, red and glistening against the white snow.

Lorna climbed up onto her knees, still dazed as she reached for the medallion. She held it in her lap, squinting as she continued to look up and down the beach. There were no answers, but she seemed to be hoping some might magically appear. And sure enough, they did.

When the medallion spoke, she eyed it with strange curiosity. Yet she took into account all it had to say, and when it finally asked for a name, she gave it one. "Magnet--.... Magnet. Just Magnet." Somehow, she seemed closer to Magneto than she'd ever been. That didn't mean she had to invite him into her life, though. Even just by name.

Magnetd, then. The daemon settles on.

She finally stands, and a thought occurs to her. "Hey Magnet...d? Did the X-Men come here?"

I have no records of "X-MEN" currently.

"Of course not. That'd be too easy," She sighs heavily as she starts to walk along the beach. She throws the medallion in the air, letting it flip before catching it with her magnetism. "Guess I'm doing this all over again."


EXIT STRATEGY:
D.E.S.T.I.N.Y. infiltrated a program to turn mutants into weapons called the Hound program to use to it's advantage. Red soldiers in the form of mutant hounds swarmed where the Mutant Underground was meeting, just as Lorna was leaving with her newly formed Hellfire Club. She tried to get herself and others out the door, but when she tried to leave as well she ended up in a beach instead of just outside the building.


ANYTHING ELSE:
On her pregnancy - I would like Lorna to have her pregnancy suspended. She'd still be pregnant, but the pregnancy wouldn't progress past where it is currently. Meaning that she needs to be careful of any risks she would take that might hurt her pregnancy, but we don't run into any problems of her having the baby before season 2 comes out.

On baby!affected powers - While all the lines of her powers vs. the baby's assistance haven't been drawn, the biggest difference seems to be Lorna's range and need to strain herself. Early in the show, Lorna can't affect a drone that is too high in the sky and outside her range. At the end of the series, she can tear a plane from the sky ( though it was taking off, so not fully in the air ). She's also shown to be able to move several large metal poles with ease early on, but later during the pregnancy shown to shut a large vault door with just the flick of her wrist. She could do the latter with a lot of strain and concentration, but she remarks that with the baby she's able to do it at that distance with just a flick.
