If two people apply for the same character, the first to post their application will be assessed. The second application will only be considered if the first is declined.

However, we do allow UP TO TWO versions of each character in game. The second applicant would therefore be permitted to apply for an AU version of that character if they so choose.

Agents of D.E.S.T.I.N.Y. or antagonist applications will open on November 4. These characters are either brainwashed (quick resolution) or coerced (slow-play resolution, long-term espionage) to help usher in the apocalypse. More information here!

AGENT OF DESTINY: Yes/No, "Brainwashed" or "Coerced." Brainwash agents will be captured in-game and start to remember themselves within 1-2 months of play; coerced agents are knowingly helping the other side but under duress. Antagonists cannot begin gameplay until November 4, 2017, but you may feel free to apply and plot before then!
Background: Brief summary as possible, Wiki links preferred. If you wish to write your own, please us bullet points and be concise, 250-800 words. Please avoid over-describing the world or any jargon, focus more on key points in personality development (see above), changes wrought by CRAU and important CRAU relationships, and events that are likely to be regarded as offensive or sensitive material.
Powers/Abilities: Bullet list preferred. 1-400 words. Include non-human weaknesses/limits and superlative skills. Estimate numerical limits (weight, distance, speed, etc.). At the mods' discretion, destructive capacity may be scaled down based on a maximum lift of 5 tons (~2 full-sized cars).
Starting Equipment: Name your daemon, describe its form (max 50 words), and list any other items the character will be arriving with. Note highly destructive items will be controlled by metaplot. If you have critters that have powers or special abilities, please describe them briefly.
Samples: 1 required, may be from any meme, game, or setting; however, it should have been written within the last year. They should also be written from your preferred canon point.

In-Universe:

Exit Strategy: Maximum of 200 words. If your character is an agent of D.E.S.T.I.N.Y./antagonist, describe what D.E.S.T.I.N.Y. agents did to them (e.g., torture/magical brainwashing, or family held hostage/apocalypse postponed).

For non-antagonists, tell us how the D.E.S.T.I.N.Y. apocalypse and the enemy appeared in their world, then describe the technology or magic the character used to escape their world. Note any characters they are arriving with (i.e., 'group app') including usernames. This may be used for future plot, but don't worry too much about perfect consistency with your group mate/castmates/etc.— adjustments can be made later. We just want you to be thinking about it. All characters start on the beach.

Who's Allowed?

ALLOWED
✔ CRAU, or characters who have experienced life in other games/museboxes. 'Partial CRAU' is not allowed, but if you apply in fresh, you will be able to obtain memories of CRAU during special events.
✔ Original characters
✔ Canon characters who must personally appear and preferably have a speaking role in the material of the canon point (specific episodes, books, films, etc.). You cannot app a minor/supporting character and headcanon the substance of their personality, or extrapolate a character's off-screen activities from material that only their canonmates were seen in
✔ Child characters (see Age warning in the Application section; note that self-sufficiency is important and other characters and players will not be forced to face consequences for failing to take on a dependent without careful OOC plotting)
✔ Multiple iterations of the same canon character are allowed. The two versions must be at least one with CRAU. The current maximum is 2 of each character. This may be raised by 1 if the character exists in another form of media and is determined to be sufficiently different.
✔ Non-human characters (greatest height in all directions is 30 feet; weird genitalia is fine as long as no one has to deal with it if they don't want to)
✔ Agents of D.E.S.T.I.N.Y., allowed as of November 4

Players should consider introducing themselves to players of close canon CR before they app. However, this is only required in the case of a group application (castmates arriving together from the same version and canon point of their world), or if you are apping the second version of an existing canon character. The purpose of this is not to mandate approval, but to initiate and encourage intra-cast communication.

BACKGROUND:

a storybook romance is one that most everyone pines for, and spends years searching for. the freemans were lucky enough to find it with ease.

Leigh & Willis fell in love young and they fell in love hard. they believed in a different type of human being. people who had abilities hidden inside them that they'd somehow unlocked, and learned to use. but the more that the young lovers spoke about what they called apex humans, the more odd looks they gained, the fewer friends they found themselves with, the less seriously they were taken.

the earth shook when zane & crimson were born. the clouds parted and the skies wept tears of pure elation. or rather, this was what a parent with the highest of expectations tells their children. this was what their parents proudly boasted, telling what sounded to be a fairy tale as though it were true facts.

(however, those things did, in fact, happen on that same day; an earthquake just off the coast followed by a storm late in the afternoon. whether or not they had anything to do with the birth of twins had yet to be proven -- but was ultimately unlikely.)

the pair of children grew up as close as twins would have. one never venturing far from the other and often times it seemed as though the pair could communicate with one another using nothing more than looks given to the other.

apex human abilities and those presenting them are kept hush-hush. anyone speaking out loud about such things is typically given the most skeptical of looks and rarely taken seriously from that point forward. those who exhibit any sort of abilities do their best to blend in, lest they want the added attention that comes along with it.

the freeman's speak freely about these abilities and were both thrilled when zane and crimson exhibited them, encouraging their children to use them, learn more about them, and teach others as well.

the twins attend public school and are relatively quiet about their apex human ability status -- despite the fact that their parents are both very vocal on their stance and belief on exactly how certain abilities manifest in individuals.

(for which there is no scientific evidence. no institutes are willing to conduct experiments on such a touchy topic. it's easier, and fiscally smarter, for them to keep out.)

they keep mostly to one another, sticking close to each other throughout their school years -- which likely didn't help the rumors that circulated about them and their somewhat off the wall behavior

EXIT STRATEGY: crimson was studying for her mid terms in the library when an earthquake started. at first, it seemed normal and that there was nothing to worry about but quickly she began to realize that this was not a normal earthquake. her powers started malfunctioning, light and color unbalancing around her and when she tried to get to zane a shelf started falling. it almost hit her if not for crack into a swirling vortex opened up beneath her feet and pulled her in.

Hello! Thank you very much for your application. Overall, things are looking good, but we would like to seek clarification on a couple of points. Specifically:

Please elaborate on the what Crimson's "light manipulation" can do. We can see by "color manipulation" that illusions are possible, but we would like elaboration on the possibilities of the other ability. Can she turn invisible, create forcefields/solid constructs, generate lasers, start fires, or only act as a "human" flashlight? The Wiki you linked covers many possible options!

She cannot create anything solid or affecting mass with her light manipulation. She can direct light to hide something or shadow or light up herself but not actually become literally invisible or anything. She can not generate lasers. A concentrated beam of light could start a fire but simply a normal one. Perhaps with practice and training these abilities can get stronger and/or expand.

You are now on the front lines defending the Multiverse.

The supercomputer welcomes you to XISTENTIA. You emerge on the beach, or still in the water, confused and disoriented after your body broke apart and was reformed in the firewall. The weather is temperate, and the water you've been flotsam in is warm, the sand under your hands feels gritty and just as real as anything. This is not a dream.

Your daemon is staring at you. It may be a creature you knew before or it could be something completely new. The look on it is somewhat fond, which, in some cases is quite the feat. It introduces itself to you as Zanied. It will be your network access and companion during your time in Xistentia. It informs you that it is mid-afternoon, and that you should attempt to reach the city. It projects a map, and gives you the rundown: there is a virus seeking to destroy your world, and every other world in the Multiverse. Have you witnessed any catastrophes recently, natural disasters that should be completely out of the realm of possibility? That is D.E.S.T.I.N.Y., and the only place where you can fight it, and restore your world to its former glory is here, in Xistentia. Are you willing to help?
