Got it! I have no issue with any of the caps - vampires in Trinity Blood get ridiculous, so I totally get it.

And yeah, the main plots of the anime and manga are the same - the difference in format really just means the manga can cover the same events in more detail (and it gets to keep a couple subplots that the anime had to cut for time).
