AGE: 22 years old
BACKGROUND:
| CAIN WIKIA
| FIGHTER WIKIA
| KINDA THE PLOT WIKIA

BRIEF SUMMARY:
In some x-amount of years into the future, humanity has colonized Mars to further their expansion into the galaxy. Unfortunately, they angered an unknown species of alien later dubbed the Colterons. The Colterons attacked Mars, claiming that the land held religious significance to them and that humanity was trespassing on sacred ground. They blew an orbital space station out of the sky, and humanity erected barriers around Earth and Mars to try to protect the planets. Thus, the navigator and fighter team fleets were formed to fight the Colterons.

Cain comes from one of the outposts on Mars, New Volga. His parents worked in the local factories, and his holder sister married and left home. He inherited his sister's rifle and used to win tournaments shooting it in local galleries. It was small money, but it was something.

Later, Cain was more or less pressed into joining the Alliance as a fighter after having been in the New Volga correctional facility. His file listed possession of an illegal firearm, trespassing, resisting arrest, and underage drinking among his crimes. With little options beyond prison or the Alliance, Cain accepted his role as a fighter in the Alliance program.

That's not all Cain was meant to do, though. While the exact wording of his commands are unknown, it is clear that Cain was tasked with somehow forging a bond with his navigator ( the implication is through seduction ). After failing twice, Cain is close to being booted from the Alliance program when he meets Abel. The pair hook up fairly quickly, and start to slowly develop a dependency on each other. At first, Abel seems like a pushover willing to take Cain's shit, but the pair learn from each other. Abel softens Cain's edges, and Cain presses Abel to be stronger, even against himself at times.

When Abel volunteers them to go into Colteron space to destroy a shipyard the enemy is building, the two board another Alliance vessel heading that way. Abel experiments with adding a new engine to the Reliant, a task given to him by the Alliance. When B-Team, sent out to further scanners into Colteron space, ends up attacked by enemy ships, Reliant and two other ships are deployed to defend the team and wipe out the enemy before they can return to their base. After nearly failing, Abel pushes the Reliant to attack the final Colteron in what looks to be a suicide run. After the explosion that should have killed Abel and Cain both, the ship manages to return unscathed.

Unknown to both boys ( though Abel is learning ), the new engine installed in the Reliant is of Colteron technology. It responds to strong emotions, such as the desire to protect ( in this case, Abel's desire to protect Cain ). Hence why Cain was tasked with becoming close to Abel.

After the battle, the pair drink and smoke together as a way of unwinding from all their stress. Cain reveals his name to be Alexei, leaving him vulnerable in a way that makes him uncomfortable. He ends up avoiding Abel, despite Abel sharing his own name with him, only to go running for the missing Abel when the Alliance calls all teams to strike.

POWERS:
Cain is a normal human. He has no special abilities of his own. He is an excellent marksman with a gun, and a strong fighter. He tends to dogfight a lot, and is better skilled with aggressive and uncalculated attacks. Although this does tend to leave him vulnerable in other ways. His aggression can be his greatest weapon, and his greatest weakness. Cain is a fighter in the Alliance as well, meaning he can't pilot an Alliance ship but he knows how to man the guns and always get his shot.

STARTING EQUIPMENT:
| the clothes on his back ( seriously, he's naked under that suit send help )
| The Reliant ( looks like the ship in panel 2 ) - the Reliant has the ability to shoot down other airships, however it requires a pilot still
| Myshonokd - little black mouse daemon

SAMPLES:
It's unlike anything he's ever seen before. The ever growing familiar feeling of dread threatens to grip Cain's heart as the Reliant tries to pilot it's way through a Colteron army of unseen proportions. It's impossible, he tells himself, somehow simultaneously prepared and unprepared to die.

Then there's a flash of light.

A sharp jolt as Reliant enters unknown atmosphere.

And a near catastrophic wreck.

The sandy surface of the beach is the only thing that saves Cain's life, but just barely. Half buried in the sand, the Reliant appears undamaged. There's a scuff on Cain's helmet, and his head is bursting with pain as he kicks at the door of the Reliant.

"Blyat!" He nearly screams. He climbs out of the ship, stumbling to turn around and check for...

His eyes go wide in his helmet.

"Abel?"

He throws his helmet off, he doesn't check where it lands. A cold feeling sinks deep in his bones as he searches for the pilot of the Reliant. "Abel!" He screams louder, scrambling down from the ship as he turns around in the sand. He's searching desperately, and later he'll realize that there's no way Abel was thrown from the ship. His belts were still fastened and the door securely shut. Abel's just... gone.

Hello.

Cain pauses, looking around for the source of the voice.

Welcome. I am your daemon.

Cain finally follows the source of the voice, looking down to see a black mouse standing in the sand. Talking to him.

"What the fuck is going on here?!"

EXIT STRATEGY: Already being ordered to prepare to attack, Cain finds Abel and the two board the Reliant. However, instead of preparing a sneak attack on the Colterons, D.E.S.T.I.N.Y. came in the form of the Colterons massively attacking the Sleipnir. While flying out, the two jump into a rift by mistake. Where Abel goes during the transfer to Xistentia is beyond Cain, but when he lands on the beaches of Xistentia he's alone in the Reliant.
