CHARACTER NAME: Anthony Stark AKA Tony CANON: Marvel Cinematic Universe CANON POINT: During Spiderman: Homecoming just after the scene where he takes the suit back from Peter, having chastised him, and sends him home CRAU: No AGE: 45 BACKGROUND:
POWERS: Tony's main 'power's have always been extremely high intelligence and equally extreme wealth. With those combined, he could create equipment that gave him the ability to go toe to toe with some of the most powerful Enhanced in the universe. STARTING EQUIPMENT:
A nice suit and other undergarments, shoes, etc. to make outfit
Iron man suit
Set of 20 portable small thrusters
Small jet
A rudimentary version of Friday, his AI companion, to become his daemon; the body will look like an awkward human android (along the lines of Vision but more rudimentary) who may eventually be upgraded to look more seamlessly (but creepily) human
You don't look as nightmarishly on fire as the last time I saw you. In fact, the beach was pretty near idyllic, apart from the running, screaming, moderately bloodied civilians. Listen. I know a certain amount of mayhem and destruction is native to the experience of life. Throw in some transdimensional portals for color, some different worlds and talking species for variety. The dim hope of eventually fixing everything... or anything, just in case anybody was going to take the path of least resistance and maybe just. Stop.
We have to keep going.
What I'm hoping is that alcohol is also a multiversal constant. Thoughts?
In-Universe:
EXIT STRATEGY: The world ended with red-armored military forces that wouldn't stop and raging electrical storms that overwhelmed the vast majority of even Tony's powerfully protected tech. Tony actually took Steve up on his offer at end of Civil War and brought the gang back together in hopes of fighting them off, but it was futile. In the end, Tony packed everyone into a jet he'd devised in the last final moments of the world-- unbeknownst to him, divine inspriation (F.A.T.E.S.) had struck and allowed it to jump worlds. Less cool: he was alone when he fell into the world. MORALITY: Tony is an inconvenient and self-frustrating paradox— a person motivated by vast remorse from having enabled terrible loss of life in the past, and even profited on it, and almost obsessive in his pursuit of redemption. However, he is so emotionally fused to this journey and the past that his heart tends to screw with his incredible brain, recruiting his egotism, and he'll tend to miss the forest for the trees. After all, he is still entrenched in violence himself and feels terrible for it; he'll imprison Enhanced because he feels responsible for what they have done to alleviate his own guilt rather than coolly examine problems and procedures; he'll break a spider teen's heart to protect his life and limb because he gets mad when he's scared. A suitable metaphor might be that he scores high on Knowledge and poor on Wisdom, which darkens his morality to a murky grey despite its sparkling intentions. WAR ATTITUDES: You might say war is in Tony's blood, given his family business was directly involved in supplying weapons that killed soldiers of all countries around the world back home. It's a legacy Tony both struggles against and nonetheless has an unique, uncanny knack for, especially in terms of creating weapons. Whether those weapons are always lethal or focus instead on capture, containment, etc., they are always weapons. He fundamentally believes that violence is often a necessary answer to hard questions, although since Civil War he has begun to think more and more about finding the line where it is not. Relevantly, he's also adept at lying. INTIMATE RELATIONSHIPS: In romantic relationships, Tony is a disaster. He spent most of his life with short, fiery affairs and casual one-night-stands, which he considered mutually beneficial despite some part of him knowing, for sure, that he broke a few hearts along the way. In recent years, since becoming a somewhat more authentically avoidant and troubled person (as opposed to a faking it til you make it kind of avoidant and troubled person), he fell in love with Pepper Potts. He has had a long and contentious relationship with her, off-again on-again, a mess of clashing priorities and poor communication. In Xist, he'll be hung up on her, but also more capable of genuine feelings with others. With regard to friendship, he's-- similar, actually, direly missing his old friends, especially Rhodey but including the Avengers. He feels he has unfinished business especially with Steve. COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTIONS: Tony tends to use his mechanical brilliance and creative genius for destructive purposes, but he is also very capable of contributing to civilian prosperity, such as his renewable energy project. All of it is guilt motivated and he is guilt to motivate him for days. Years. Centuries, but luckily he won't live that long! So just years. He'll make AI tractors and a flying train and all kinds of other stuff for the city, given the chance.
