james t. kirk 》star trek (aos)

crash landing.

[ James Kirk has seen a lot of things in his life. He's seen planets swallowed whole by the void. He's met alternate versions of people he's known. He's seen the brink of war creeping up on an entire quadrant. If, three years ago, someone were to ask him what he thought the end of everything looked like, he would never have said this.

The swarm of ships that tore apart the Enterprise like paper and captured her crew like nothing. The planet taking up the whole of the viewscreen as the saucer section began to burn up in re-entry. He had evacuated the last of the crew to their Kelvin pods, and taken his own at the very last moment. He saw the Enterprise break apart on the jagged cliffs of Altamid, and as the pod began to descend everything changed sharply.

There's pressure in his head and too much, too bright light that forces him to close his eyes. Even in the pod he has to lift an arm to shield his face, and grits his teeth as a feeling not completely dissimilar to a transport washes over him. Jim lowers his arm to a view that can't remotely be possible and yet he's seeing it. There's an alarm that the thrusters on the pod have malfunctioned, and he braces as well as he can for the coming impact.

He's dazed when he comes to, but the pod is still mostly in tact. Slipping out of the harness, he undoes the latch to blow the pod door, and climbs out into chaos. It's a lot of information to process at once, but first things first, he gets into the survival suit in the pod, grabs his phaser, a tricorder, and a communicator.

He can worry about the rest later. Right now, the priority is helping others who seem to be in exactly the same predicament he is. There's someone stuck under the wreckage of something not far from him, and he makes a beeline for it, hunkering down to offer a reassuring smile, sweat already making his hair stick to his forehead: ]
Hey, easy. Try not to move so much, I'll see what I can do about getting this off of you.

enter the city.

( first part closed to spock: )

[ The trek through the woods wasn't as difficult as it could be, especially considering he'd been helping Spock along the majority of the time. While he's grateful to see the city come into view, it doesn't come without a sense of trepidation. It's overgrown, looks abandoned. For how long and why, he has to wonder.

He met this---creature when they were back in the woods. A daemon. Maybe a kind of android in the shape of a lynx. It trails along near to both of them, and helped him to locate some edibles the previous night.

Right now, Jim will take what he can get, especially if it helps him keep Spock alive. ]

Okay, here's a spot to sit, let's get you over there.

[ Humans aren't as sturdy as Vulcans are, but Jim is pushing through. He's a little rattled from the crash, maybe a mild concussion, but he's had worse from bar fights when he was still a dumb hick from a nowhere town in Iowa. It'll pass. Spock, however, needs a damn hospital, and an abandoned city doesn't ease the growing pit of worry in his gut. ]

( open to all: )

[ Jim had left Spock at the safest spot he could find, with a good view of the surrounding area in case there were hostiles, and gave him his phaser just in case. They also have their communicators, plus the robot lynx thing. This place is weird.

He's heading into what looks like a kind of supply store, and has to double back out at a flurry of animals who are disturbed that fly and run out. After they clear it, he goes back in, starting to look through what medical supplies he can get to help with that nasty wound his First Officer has.

In the process he finds a sheathed knife, and attaches it to his belt. After what he's been through the past couple of days, he's not willing to go out on a whole lot of pure faith. Caution will do just fine for now. ]

wildcard pick a card, any card.

[ Did I miss something you really wanted to see? Feel like catching up with Jim in the woods, or just hitting him up some other way in general? Go for it! I'm easy. ]
