[ coming across reyna in this strange new world was not what nico expected. he's in the process of searching for more arrivals to guide towards where will is hard at work, healing those in need of assistance and he's never considered, even for a second, that anyone ( else ) from home would pop up. but there she is, in all her roman glory, reaching out a hand to help.
that, at least, comes as no surprise. he recalls easily how it had been hefting the athena parthenos with the help of reyna's offered strength and coach hedge's... well, coach hedge-ness. reyna had been the one to understand him on a level he'd never before thought anyone could and the fact that she knew all of his secrets and accepted him anyway... it's hard not to swallow down a pleased noise. to throw his arms around her like she had when she'd drawn him out of the shadows, insisting that they have two homes.
after bianca, there's been no one with whom nico's been so close. oh, he has will for an amazing ( if occasionally annoying ) boyfriend and jason is a great friend. hazel was his sister by godly-blood, but reyna... she'd become more of a bianca for him than anyone else. so when he sees her offering a hand, regardless of to whom she might be offering help, nico steps out of the shadows and grasps it. the worn calluses of her palm feel good against his own and he beams at her before pulling her into a hug.
it's been like a year for him, since he's last seen her. six months back home and another spent in eudio. he can't help but feel the urge to embrace her. and hopefully she won't mind the familiar chill that always seems to emanate from the body of the son of hades. ]
