Once the forest turned up fruitless--well not fruit-less, but coffee-less--Toby turned to the city, with the rosegoblin shaped daemon she'd decided to name Rosalind both for the plant creature it resembled and the Shakespeare reference perched on her shoulder. She's still wearing the spell to hide her Fae features as she rummages through the shop, although it's definitely not strong enough to keep anyone with at least a grandparent who had been a pureblood Fae from seeing through.
Most people would be looking for real food, or at least clothes. But not Toby. Nope, Toby is muttering about 'damn coffee' every other sentence, until she looks up and sees...
Well, she's not sure what she sees. She has a feeling of 'not human' coming off the man, but that's it. She doesn't smell the Fae magic she's used to, or feel the energy of any species she knows. But she's figuring out that doesn't say much in this place.
"Hi there!" she says, forcing herself to sound as chipper as May (the thought of May makes her heart hurt, and she quickly pushes the pain down). "I'm Toby, Toby Daye. You wouldn't happen to have found any coffee yet? I'm really jonesing, didn't think to grab a thermos before I jumped through the freaky portal."
