Policies and Conduct
- Don't be an asshole. Malicious behavior may be subject to requests to stop it please. There is no set number of warnings before someone is disinvited from the game as we would like to imagine nothing would escalate to this level. Behaviors to avoid include:
- Infomodding
- Powerposing actions on another character without OOC discussion/consent
- Infomodding
- Players are encouraged to resolve conflicts between themselves, but mod mediation is available at the current time. Keep in mind that the goal is a generally equitable solution and problem-solving. When in doubt about whether another player is attempting to harm you, document it, but give the benefit of the doubt.
Relatedly, note that character development is expected to occur over time and differences in interpretation are generally celebrated here. However, your app will be used for reference in the unlikely event that any concerns with "extremely OOC" behavior are raised by fellow players, affecting other gameplay. Our goal will be to reduce negative player impact while minimally compromising enjoyment. - Check-ins occur every other month. You will be asked to briefly summarize what your character has been doing, then link 1 thread started in that span of time (log or network), with at least 3 comments by your character.
- We reserve the right to deny reserves or applications on the basis of inappropriate past conduct, though discussion with you will be part of the process.
- Character vs character conflict is encouraged and violence is integrated into the theme. However, certain types are discouraged through both IC mechanics (F.A.T.E.S. is improved through physical collaboration not destruction) and OOC policy. We would recommend avoiding RP of intra-character sexual violence, abuse, murder, torture and other activities that would be regarded as felonious. If you wish pursue such storylines, all parties should OOCly agree to limit fallout and do the thread in locked personal journal entries. Acts of war perpetrated on NPCs and triggering content from memory shares are exempt (see below).
- Do your best to use trigger/content warnings in headers. Common warnings include:
- Sexual content
- Violence (including to animals), body horror, torture, self-harm
- Death
- Drug use/intoxicants
- Offensive language (misogyny, racism, bigotry); the f-word is fine probably
- Snakes, spiders
- Mental illness
- Sexual content
- To encourage more time and CR with other players, we recommend keeping direct CR between your own characters to a minimum. This minimal degree of playercest is expected due to the small size of the N/PC community. Proceed with more caution and seek player consent/consultation when competition over IC resources, leadership/authority positions, or shipping dynamics are involved.
